The third grade curriculum was piloted at nine schools in South Dakota and Minnesota in the 2022-23 school year.

On average, students in the pilot program showed a 21 percentage point improvement in their evaluation scores after completing the curriculum.

Key Learning Outcomes

The biggest learning gains were seen in understanding the acronym PTA (Pause. Think. Act.), with a 44.8 percentage point increase, and identifying the “feel good” chemical released by the brain, with a 43.8 percentage point increase.
