of our 9 pilot school surveys…

Our pilot program in nine schools will go through the Internal Review Board at University of South Dakota.

The curriculum is age-appropriate and has great analogies that help students understand drug use/misuse in simple terms. There are reminders in each lesson of what they have learned in previous lessons, which is positive reinforcement. The students were engaged in the lessons and seemed to enjoy what they were learning.

The students liked that it informed them about drugs and what they do to our bodies, and showing parts of the brain; some also liked discussing their feelings.

The fentanyl lesson with the grains of salt and penny (hands-on activity) was very powerful. The death timer was very powerful and eye-opening for students.
